Boat Gear & Gadgets

Scott and I bought a lot of supplies for our first boat, as we had nothing. When we sold that boat, we gave a lot of the items to the new owners. Obviously, we were not using our heads well, because we ended up having to buy many of those items again for the second boat.

Below are quick links to help you get started, especially if you are new to boating. When we are in our homes, we take for granted that we have certain items within a few steps.  After we bought our second boat and supplies for it, we still were not well stocked. We had friends over for dinner and we didn’t have a wine opener, a pot to cook pasta in, no can opener – so be sure to make a list of the things you know you will use regularly.

BOAT GEAR:

I will continue to add items as I remember them. We also bought everything we would need for personal use including galley ware, linens, etc. I will start that list next!

Galley Gadgets & Other Boat Stuff

When provisioning your boat, think of it as your home. When you prep dinner, you know what drawer has the spatula in or the bottle opener. It’s really like starting from scratch and buying the things you might use most often (i.e. bottle openers, knives, etc). Here’s a starter list we worked off of.

We also stocked our bathroom with all of our regular toiletries, so we don’t have to pack those up each weekend too.
